Pair of Early 20th Century French Neoclassical Carved and Painted Planters
These tall elegant antique jardinieres were crafted in France, circa 1920. Over 5 feet tall, each large planter sits on four curved legs ending with scrolled feet decorated with acanthus leafs motifs. Each stand sits on a wide in-curved stately base, decorated with a central cone form finial and featuring a faux marble painted finish. The stem is embellished with carved laurel leaf swag motifs around the body. The V shape weave basket with an opening of 16.5 inches in width, is dressed with the original zinc liner. Both classic pieces are in excellent condition and adorn the original two-tone green and silver hand painted finish; they would add distinguished charm to any entryway, or would have a unique heightening effect to any room they were placed in. Measures: 23″ D, 23″ W, 61.25″ H.
