Pair of Italian Framed Oil on Canvas Floral Paintings Signed A. Ceparano

$3,600

About

Place these vintage paintings in a living room, den or on an office wall. Created in Italy circa 1980 and entitled “Rose, Tulipani, Cristantemi in un Vaso di Vetro” (Rose, Tulip, Chrysanthemum in a Glass Vase), and “Vaso di Flori su un Tavolo in Pietra” (vase of flowers on a stone table), both artworks are set in a round carved gilt frame. Each piece painted on canvas depicts elegant floral arrangements of flowers in glass vase and on a stone table. Both colorful paintings are in excellent condition with bright colors. The paintings are signed by artist A. Ceparano, and are masterful reproductions of two pieces by famous French artist Jean Jacques Prevost the Elder (1735-1790). Prevost was born in Nointel, was a member of the French Academy of Saint-Luc, and exhibited there in 1774. He excelled in portraits and still life’s of flowers and fruits in gouache. Ceparano, the artist of this reproduction of Prevost’s work, was born in 1957 in Caserta, where he lives and dedicates himself to painting. He completed his studies at the Naples Liceo Artistico, with ample painting and intuitive capabilities. The son of a painter, at a young age he was exposed to the artistic and cultural life of his city. He supplemented this with frequent study abroad trips around Italy and Europe. With the same expertise, he deals with both still life’s and hunting scenes. He seems to use relaxed impressionist methods; however, he is also a serene and temperate realist painter who pays attention to the visions of nature. He becomes more vigorous when he deals with aspects of rural life. Objects and animals are painted with a keen eye and a firm hand. Most of his works are bought in Italy. He has participated in numerous one-man and collective shows and has gained in status. Measure: 28.5″ diameter.
