$1,600
About
This colorful antique pair of hand-painted majolica decorative wall platters were crafted in Brittany, France, circa 1950. Sculpted in high relief, each ceramic plate is decorated with clams, mussels, seaweeds and sand and embellished by two species of crabs in the centre; a “Dormeur” (or sleeping crab) and an Araignee” (or spider crab). These kind of tasty crabs are very popular in the Atlantic ocean, on the west coast of France! These decorative platters are in excellent condition with wonderful colors in the red, green and blue palette.
Measures: 12.75″ diameter.
