This antique ceramic vase was created in Brittany, circa 1920. Round in shape, the faience piece has curved handles and features colorful hand-painted decor. The painted elements include a Breton woman dressed in traditional, historically accurate clothing. The flower pot is further embellished with floral decor in a blue, red and yellow palette. The large vase is in excellent condition and is signed on the bottom Henriot Quimper France.
Founded in Quimper in 1690, the HB-Henriot Manufacture has always innovated and worked with artists since this date.
Nowadays, HB-Henriot is well-known all over the world for its know-how. They’re known for the “Quimper paint touch,” the tradition of producing and hand-painting every piece in-house, and the creation of its own porcelain molds.
