Vintage French Louis XV Carved Pine 20-Bottle Wine Cabinet Titled “Sauvignon”
$2,300
About
This narrow, antique wine storage cabinet was crafted in western France using old timber. Built of pine wood, the tall and thin cabinet sits on four small scroll feet under a scalloped apron. The piece features five shelves embellished with decorative carvings and each row holds four bottles, for a total of 20. The wine storage is decorated with the words “Sauvignon” printed on the front. The cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina; it would make a useful addition to a kitchen or wine cellar without taking up too much room. Sauvignon is a small blue-black grape grown primarily in the Médoc region of Bordeaux, in southwest France, and highly prized in wine-making. Sauvignon Blanc is a white wine that owes much of its popularity to winemakers in Bordeaux and the Loire Valley in France. The Sauvignon Blanc taste is very different from other white wines, like Chardonnay, because of its green and herbaceous flavors. Measures: 20.75″ W x 10.5″ D x 56.25″ H.
