Created in Italy circa 2010, the large vintage mirror has a classic sunbeam shape with outstretching rays, a central circular beveled mirror plate encircled by a carved and gilt band. The wall decor is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich antique patinated gilt finish. Almost five feet in diameter, the versatile mirror could be placed on above a mantel, in a hallway or in a large entry over a commode or console table. The sunburst, a captivating decorative motif, finds its origins intertwined with the radiant halos that graced figures in medieval religious artworks.
