Vintage Set of 12 French Barbotine Faience Oyster Plates & Dish from St Clement
These colorful antique plates and matching platter were created in France circa 1920, by Saint Clement. The hand painted Majolica service features 11 plates and one charger, all having shaped wells and lemon wedge motifs. Every piece is marked underfoot “4589 St Clement France”. The set is in excellent condition with rich colors in the grey/blue, white and yellow palette. The Faience of Luneville – Saint-Clément has been the heir of the prestigious pottery of Lorraine since the 18th century. The manufacture of Luneville was founded circa 1730, while that of the St. Clement was founded, circa 1758. Platter: 14.75″ diameter Plate: 10″.
