About
Add a touch of elegant chinoiserie to your home or garden with this hand-painted porcelain garden seat. Made in China circa 1960, the barrel-shaped form features a pierced geometric pattern along the sides and top, originally intended to allow water to drain when used outdoors. Decorated in traditional Famille rose and under-glaze blue tones, the seat is adorned with detailed lotus blossoms, cranes, and water lilies, symbols of purity, longevity, and peace in Chinese culture. The upper border features a stylized lappet and ruyi pattern, while the base is finished with a scalloped band of petal-like motifs. In excellent condition, this versatile ceramic piece can function as a side table, pedestal, plant stand, or accent stool, bringing both artistry and function to indoor or outdoor spaces. Measures: 12″ diameter 17.5″ height.
