19th C. Italian Neoclassical Giltwood and Glass Chandelier with Figural Carvings
$3,600
About
Crafted in Italy circa 1860, this exceptional giltwood chandelier embodies the grandeur of the Neoclassical style. The circular frame is richly adorned with hand-carved winged female figures, laurel wreaths, and floral garlands, all finished in a warm, time-softened gilding. Deeply set glass cabochons in alternating jewel tones add a touch of opulence, while the underside features a cut-glass diffuser with radiating starburst pattern, finished with a carved giltwood pine cone finial. Suspended from a canopy by three original spiral-and-bead carved chains, the fixture measures 23″ in diameter and 73″ in height including chains and canopy. Its sculptural detailing and original patina make it a true statement piece, ideal for a grand entryway, dining room, or library. Excellent condition consistent with age and use, rewired for modern installation.
