Early 20th Century French Louis XVI Mahogany Guéridon Table with Bronze Mounts
$1,425
About
With its finely detailed marquetry top and richly ornamented gilt bronze mounts, this antique French Louis XVI style guéridon combines classical symmetry with refined craftsmanship. Crafted in France circa 1930, the round mahogany table features a parquetry-style top with an intricate geometric pattern, framed by a brass border with finely reeded detailing.
The circular apron is embellished with continuous gilt bronze floral swags, ribbons, and tassels, accented by neoclassical architectural mounts above each leg. Four slender, fluted and tapering legs are topped with gilt bronze collars and terminate in decorative bronze sabots.
The contrast between the warm mahogany patina and the golden bronze accents highlights the table’s graceful proportions and traditional Louis XVI design. Perfect as a center table, occasional table, or accent piece in a living room or library, the antique guéridon is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use.
