19th Century French Quimper Faience Perrik and Anaik Breton Figures
$1,300
About
Bring regional Breton charm to a kitchen shelf or dining room display with this colorful pair of antique faience figures, crafted in Brittany circa 1890 by the celebrated Henriot Quimper workshops. Modeled as the traditional characters Perrik and Anaik, each figure is hand painted in a vivid palette of green, ochre, cobalt, and soft cream, capturing classic rural costumes from the Quimper region. The woman stands beside a water jar and pillar, while the young man strikes a confident pose against a rocky mound. Both pieces feature the characteristic Quimper brushwork, expressive faces, and the warm, slightly glossy glaze typical of late 19th century production. Each figure is signed on the back of the base, “Henriot Quimper,” with model numbers 142 and 152 for further authenticity. These decorative sculptures remain in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and would complement a faience collection or add storytelling character to a French country interior. Dimensions: 5.5W x 3.5D x 12.5H
