Pair of Early 20th Century English Silver Plated Rococo Four-Arm Candelabras
$2,300
About
Decorate a dining table or mantel with this elegant pair of antique English silver plate candelabras, crafted in Birmingham circa 1910. Designed in the Louis XV taste, each piece features a richly cast base with scrolling acanthus leaves and shell motifs, rising to a fluted baluster stem adorned with refined Rococo detailing.
The removable upper sections display gracefully scrolling arms emerging from a central foliate bouquet, each arm ending in a shaped bobeche and candle cup. The asymmetrical movement and naturalistic decoration give the pair a light, fluid silhouette. The tops can be removed to create single candlesticks, offering versatility for both formal entertaining and more understated arrangements.
Each candelabrum is stamped “GRIP FAST,” a Birmingham trademark used on quality silver-plated wares in the late 19th to early 20th century, indicative of solid English craftsmanship.
The antique candelabra are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a soft, luminous patina and light surface wear enhancing the depth of the casting and overall character. A decorative and functional pair with strong presence, ideal for a dining table, console, or mantel. Each one weighs 12 pounds.
