Early 20th Century French Louis XV Wrought Iron Eight-Light Chandelier
$2,900
About
Bring elegant Old World character to a dining room, entry, or powder room with this beautifully hand forged French chandelier. Crafted in France circa 1920, the eight-light fixture features a sculptural Louis XV inspired silhouette with scrolling wrought iron arms, twisted iron accents, and finely detailed gilt metal leaf decorations throughout. The openwork center cage is adorned with graceful curves and decorative foliate motifs, creating a light and airy presence despite the substantial iron construction.
The chandelier retains its rich blackened iron finish contrasted by warm gilt accents that highlight the hand forged craftsmanship and decorative details. Each arm terminates in a scalloped bobeche supporting candle sleeve sockets in the traditional French manner. The fixture has been newly wired to US standards and is ready for installation.
This antique chandelier is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a beautiful patinated finish with subtle gilt highlights and elegant time-softened character. Canopy and chain included.
Dimensions: 34″ Diameter x 26″H.
