Early 20th Century French Three-Light Tole Chandelier with Porcelain Flowers
$1,800
About
Bring the charm of a blooming French garden into your home with this elegant antique floral chandelier. Crafted in France circa 1920, the three-light fixture is hand-fashioned from painted and gilt tole with an airy open cage-form frame composed of gracefully scrolling vines, leafy branches, and abundant hand-painted porcelain flowers.
Delicately modeled roses, blossoms, and buds in soft shades of pink, lavender, ivory, and blush are intertwined among richly detailed foliage, creating a beautifully naturalistic composition. Three candle arms emerge organically from the flowering vines and are fitted with candle sleeve covers set within gilt leaf-form bobeches. Additional blossoms and foliage crown the upper frame and continue to the decorative floral finial below, giving the chandelier visual interest and sculptural beauty from every angle.
The antique chandelier has been professionally rewired for the U.S. market and is ready to install. It is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining its beautifully aged painted and gilt finish with a rich, authentic patina. The porcelain flowers remain in very good condition with light wear consistent with age.
