19th Century English Leather Suitcase on Walnut Stand Side Table
$2,600
About
This refined antique suitcase table features a 19th century leather traveling case mounted on a later walnut stand executed in the Louis XIII style, creating a distinctive and versatile side or occasional table. Crafted in England circa 1880, the rectangular leather suitcase retains its original stitched leather surface with a richly developed patina, a front brass lock mechanism, and a central leather handle. The top is further adorned with embossed monogrammed initials “G.O.”, adding a personalized historic detail. The original key is included. The suitcase rests on a separate walnut base raised on barely twist legs, joined by a matching stretcher, a hallmark of the Louis XIII style and providing both visual strength and stability. When opened, the interior reveals its original fabric lining. Both decorative and functional, this antique table works beautifully as a side table, occasional table, or accent piece in a library, study, bedroom, or living space. The piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and displays a rich, time-softened patinated finish throughout. Dimensions: 26.5″W x 17″D x 26.25″H
