19th Century French Barbotine Painted Cachepot with Hunt Trophy Motifs
Decorate a ranch or hunting lodge with this colorful majolica jardinière. Created in France by L’Hermine a Orchies, circa 1880, and almost square in shape, the antique porcelain cache pot features exquisitely rendered hunting motifs on all four sides, including deer, goose, wild boar, guns, horns, acorns and tree branches. The colorful planter is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns rich colors in a green, light brown and beige palette. A great addition to a lodge, ranch or hunting resort. Featured in the book “Les Barbotines” by Pierre Faveton page 74 (see pictures). Slight inside color shade differences. Measures: 14″ W x 12″ D x 11″ H.
