Decorate a den or game room with this richly carved antique buffet! Created in France, circa 1860, and built of oak wood, the cabinet sits on small feet over a carved base plinth, and embellished with vertical columns decorated with carved clusters of grapes, fruits, and leaves, cascading downward in a naturalistic style. The buffet with molded edges, has two carved drawers across the front, dressed with iron handles. Underneath, two heavily carved doors decorated with oval medallions bounded with foliage decor around the edges; each medallion features two love birds in high relief surrounded with foliage embellishments. The carvings are framed by beveled rectangular moldings, giving depth and dimension to the design. The inside reveals a central shelf for ultimate storage. The Black Forest style buffet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich light bleached oak finish, and exquisite detailed carvings.
