This large, antique metal grapes harvest basket was created in the Vallee du Rhone, France, circa 1870. The galvanized metal grape picker’s hotte/hod basket is hand-painted with colorful stenciled inscriptions, including the “Chateauneuf-du-Pape logo with Saint Peter’s keys and papal tiara. The Classic piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with the original worn back straps, and flaunts a beautiful, oxidized and old patina. This piece would make a true statement in a wine cellar or simply hanging in a kitchen filled with dry flowers! Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a French wine located around the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône wine region in south eastern France.
