About
This charming antique wall mirror was crafted in Provence, France circa 1880 in the Louis XV style, known for its elegant curves and ornate detailing. The carved giltwood frame features richly sculpted scrollwork, rocaille motifs, and foliate flourishes, all finished in warm, lustrous gold leaf that has aged gracefully. The original mercury glass plate shows subtle silvering typical of 19th-century mirrors, enhancing its authentic character. A stylized cartouche crowns the top, while the shaped lower edge and side embellishments complete the Rococo-inspired silhouette. Measuring 28.25 inches high by 19 inches wide, this 19th century French mirror is ideal for a powder room, entryway, or as a decorative accent above a console or chest. Wired on the back for easy hanging. Excellent condition consistent with age and use.
