19th Century French Napoleon III Marquetry Walnut, Porcelain & Bronze Jardinière
Decorate a dining table or a buffet top with this elegant, antique oval planter with zinc liner. Crafted in France circa 1870, and decorated with marquetry and parquetry motifs, the jardiniere sits on bronze scrolled legs decorated with acanthus leaves. Dressed with intricate side handles, the cache pot features a brass pierced gallery around the rim, and is embellished on the front with colorful hand painted Sevres porcelain medallion with floral motif set inside an ornate bronze frame; it is further dressed with bottom and side mounts of grapes and fruit decor. The Napoleon III bombe cachepot is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a rich walnut patina throughout. Original inside zinc liner included.
