When opened, the interior reveals a green felt backgammon board with finely drawn linear motifs. The set is complete with 30 round wooden pieces, two leather dice cups, a pair of bone dice, and the original handwritten paper describing the rules of the French game “Le Jeu de Jacquet.” Both practical and decorative, this dual-purpose game set embodies the refined leisure pursuits of the late 19th century. It remains in excellent condition, showcasing rich patinated walnut tones and dovetailed joinery at the corners. A charming and functional addition to any library, study, or collector’s cabinet.
