Bring classic European character to a wall, cabinet, or tabletop with this decorative vintage Delft platter. Crafted in Belgium circa 1960 by Boch, the large circular faience charger features a finely rendered pastoral landscape in traditional cobalt blue against a creamy white ground. The tranquil scene depicts a Dutch windmill beside thatched cottages, with a small boat crossing the calm water beneath an atmospheric cloud-filled sky.

The central composition is surrounded by a wide molded border decorated with stylized flowers, scrolling foliage, and geometric motifs inspired by historic Delft pottery. Inscribed “naar du Chattel,” meaning “after du Chattel,” the landscape is based on the work of Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel (1856–1917), a Dutch painter associated with the Hague School and celebrated for his luminous river views and peaceful countryside scenes. The reverse bears the Boch Delfts factory mark and is fitted with a wire for wall display.

Generously scaled, this antique-inspired platter makes an attractive focal point in a kitchen, dining room, or collection of blue-and-white ceramics. It is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with richly contrasting color and crisp decorative detail throughout.
