Early 20th Century French Baroque Carved Mahogany Barley Twist Pedestal Table
Display a bust or a flower vase on this elegant, antique pedestal. Crafted in Southern France circa 1920 and built of mahogany, the column sits on a thick decorative rectangular plinth ending with bracket feet. The pedestal features a hand carved barley twist stem over a carved bottom decorated with foliage motifs, and connected at the pediment to a smaller surface (the top is 16 x 12.75) decorated with scalloped edges; the top is further embellished with a round motif dressed with carved shell mounts and decorative finials. The sturdy, aesthetic Baroque Louis XIII style pedestal table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich walnut patina.
