About
Crafted in France circa 1920, this elegant mid-century extendable dining table showcases a striking parquetry top and solid oak construction. The rectangular surface is richly inlaid with geometric diamond motifs, forming a repeating lattice pattern across the top, all framed in contrasting borders that accentuates the craftsmanship. Two matching leaves, also finished with parquetry, can be added at either end to extend the table for larger gatherings The table comfortably seats eight people without leaves and up to twelve when fully extended, making it ideal for both everyday use and entertaining. It stands on six boldly shaped baluster legs over plinth-style bases, all joined by a wide stretcher for added stability and architectural balance. The Louis XIV style table is completed in a patinated honey-toned oak finish, enhancing the warmth and character of the wood grain throughout. In excellent condition commensurate with age and use, this important table is ideal for a dining room, library, or spacious kitchen, offering both sculptural presence and practical flexibility.
