Crafted in Provence, France circa 1920, the decorative stand is designed in the Louis XV taste and features finely carved giltwood framing with graceful rocaille scrolls, floral accents, and curved legs ending in scrolled feet.

The rack is fitted with double caned panels that open outward and are held in place by small metal chains, creating a practical divided interior for storing reading material. A carved upper handle allows the piece to be moved easily from room to room, while the folding construction adds both function and visual interest.
