French Louis XIII Inlaid Walnut, Chestnut, Burl, Elm and Oak Round Dining Table
$11,000
About
This elegant mid-century French round center table was crafted in the Pyrenees region, circa 1950, in the Louis XIII style, using reclaimed 18th-century walnut timbers along with mixed hardwoods including chestnut, oak, elm, and burl veneers. The circular top is richly inlaid with precise geometric parquetry, centered by a bold starburst medallion formed from contrasting walnut, elm, and burl, creating strong visual depth and architectural balance. The thick top rests on a solid apron and a substantial pedestal base composed of four boldly carved scroll supports terminating in voluted bracket feet. A turned central baluster anchors the design and enhances the table’s sculptural presence. The surface displays a warm, hand-rubbed patina with subtle wear, surface marks, and age-related character inherent to the use of centuries-old wood, reinforcing its authentic antique appeal. Both decorative and functional, this antique-inspired table is ideal as a center table in a breakfast room, dining room, game table or library. It is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 61″ Diameter x 30″H
