Mid-18th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut Three Drawer Commode Chest
This large, antique chest of drawers was carved in Lyon, France, circa 1760. The elegant, fruitwood serpentine “Commode Lyonnaise” stands on front escargot feet over a scalloped apron; the cabinet is dressed with three hand carved bombe drawers across the front, decorated with recessed panels. The chest is further embellished with the original intricate bronze handles and matching escutcheons. The traditional Louis XV chest of drawers is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina.
