A distinctive collection of seven antique Italian heraldic panels, each individually hand-painted with a different coat of arms or emblematic device. Crafted in Italy circa 1870, the rectangular wooden panels feature warm ochre-yellow molded frames surrounding painted fields of deep burgundy, ivory, muted blue, and ochre.

At the center of each panel is a different escutcheon or cartouche, embellished with scrolling Rococo-inspired ornament and symbolic imagery including crossed tools, ladders, staffs, architectural motifs, and other heraldic devices. Although the specific families have not been identified, the imagery strongly recalls the decorative heraldry traditionally associated with Italian noble households, guilds, confraternities, or civic institutions.

The seven panels form a cohesive decorative suite while retaining subtle differences in size, coloring, and design. Their original painted surfaces show desirable fading, rubbing, losses, and time-worn patina, giving the group the authentic character expected of 19th-century decorative objects.

Arranged together, they create a particularly strong architectural display for a library, study, hallway, staircase, or above a console. The antique panels are in very good condition commensurate with age and use, with expected surface wear and losses to the original decoration.
