Mid-20th Century Bohemian Ruby Red Cut-to-Clear Crystal Vase

$650

About

Brilliantly faceted and richly colored, this mid-20th century Bohemian crystal vase exemplifies the bold artistry of cut-to-clear glasswork. Crafted circa 1950–1970, the piece features a thick ruby red overlay intricately hand-cut to reveal the clear crystal beneath, forming a striking pattern of geometric diamonds and angular facets that shimmer with light. The octagonal form tapers elegantly toward the base, while the deep red hue creates a vivid contrast with the transparent crystal interior. This vibrant interplay of color and cut is characteristic of Bohemian glassmakers such as Moser or Harrach, known for their technical precision and dramatic visual effects. Measuring 9.75 inches high by 6.5 inches in diameter, the vase is substantial and luminous, ideal as a centerpiece or sculptural accent. It remains in excellent vintage condition overall, with one small chip to the rim that does not detract from its display quality. A dynamic and collectible example of Bohemian crystal, blending Old World craftsmanship with bold mid-century design.
