This elegant antique French side chair was crafted in the Napoleon III style, circa 1880. Executed in finely turned wood with a deep black ebonized finish, the chair is richly decorated with delicate gilt chinoiserie-style motifs along the legs, seat rails, and shaped crest rail. The scalloped top rail and turned spindle back create a refined silhouette characteristic of late 19th-century French decorative seating. The chair stands on gently tapering legs joined by turned stretchers, providing both visual lightness and structural stability. The seat has been newly upholstered in smooth black leather, finished with decorative brass nailhead trim, offering comfort while respecting the period character.
