About
Place this elegant pair of antique armchairs in a study, library, or living room for comfortable seating with strong architectural presence. Crafted in France circa 1880, the chairs are built in solid walnut and executed in the Louis XIII style, recognized by its sculptural lines and robust proportions. Each chair features a tall rectangular back and a generously proportioned wide and deep seat, offering both comfort and visual height. The frames are richly carved with scrolling arm supports, acanthus leaf motifs, and shaped scroll legs joined by a decorative H-form stretcher, reinforcing both structure and classic 17th century inspired design. The warm walnut showcases a beautiful aged patina with soft highlights along the carved edges. The chairs are upholstered in a colorful patterned textile with vertical motifs in red, green, gold, and blue tones, finished with large decorative nailhead trim along the edges. The bold upholstery contrasts nicely with the warm wood tones while emphasizing the tall back silhouette. The armchairs are in excellent antique condition commensurate with age and use, with a rich walnut patina and sturdy construction. Their generous seat depth and height make them ideal occasional chairs for a living room, library, or bedroom sitting area. Dimensions: 25.5″W x 31″D x 47″H Seat Height: 20″H
