Pair of 19th Century French Louis XV Rococo Bronze Dore Five-Light Candelabras
$1,400
About
Bring opulent French character to a mantel, console, or dining room with this richly sculpted pair of Louis XV style bronze candelabra, crafted in France circa 1890. Each antique five-light candlestick is cast in solid bronze with a warm, naturally aged patina and stands on an exuberant rocaille base with scrolling acanthus, shell motifs, and cartouche details. Rising from the pedestal, the fluted urn-form stem is adorned with draped foliate embellishments and supports an intricate network of scrolling arms, each terminating in a tulip-shaped candle cup with a shaped drip bobeche. The craftsmanship is crisp and well-defined throughout, from the curled rococo volutes to the finely chased leafwork, showcasing the quality of late-19th-century French decorative bronzes. A substantial and beautifully balanced pair, ideal for elevating classic, traditional, Parisian, or château-style interiors. Excellent condition commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 9.25″ diameter x 17.25″ height each.
