Complete your formal living room or den with this elegant pair of antique armchairs. Created in France, circa 1880, the large, classic bergeres stand on carved tapered and fluted legs over a bombe apron. Each wide and rounded back is decorated with an ornate central eagle figure and features two side columns dressed with carved sphere form finials at the pediment. The open armrests are highly decorated with detailed acanthus leaf motifs. Each chair is upholstered with a yellow silk fabric with vase and garland motifs, and a deep and comfortable seat with a wreath and floral motifs. The colorful fauteuils are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich walnut patina complemented with an classy upholstery. Significant wearing to the fabric on the seat and back. Measures: 28″ W x 30″ D x 42.5″ H.
