Pair of 19th Century Louis XIV Carved Painted Armchairs with Fleur-de-Lys Fabric
$5,500
About
These elegant antique Louis XV armchairs were crafted in France, circa 1870. Each large chair stands on cabriole legs decorated with acanthus leaf motifs at the shoulder, and ending with hoof feet, over an intricate curved bottom stretcher embellished by a middle carved floral medallion. The chair features a square back and a deep and comfortable seat, under a scalloped apron decorated in the center with a carved shell motif. The lightly grey painted chairs including the carved armrests, have been reupholstered with a cream fabric punctuated with Classic fleur-de-lis pattern. Both traditional chairs are in excellent condition, with an antique patinated painted finish, and would make a wonderful addition to a living room or bedroom suite.
