Pair of Early 20th Century Dutch Delft Blue and White Faience Bud Vases
$975
About
Decorate a mantel, bookshelf, or occasional table with this charming pair of antique Delft bud vases. Crafted in Holland circa 1920, the faience vessels feature an elegant trumpet form with a flared foot, tapered body, and gently scalloped rim. Their slender silhouette makes them ideal for displaying a few fresh stems or as decorative accents on their own.
Each vase is hand painted in the traditional Delft blue and white palette and decorated with a central cartouche depicting a tranquil Dutch harbor scene with a sailboat resting on calm waters beside a bridge and cottage. The scenic reserve is framed by intricate floral and foliate motifs, with additional botanical decoration extending around the body and foot, showcasing the delicate artistry associated with Dutch Delftware.
The antique ceramic vases are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn rich cobalt blue hand-painted decoration against a crisp white ground. The underside retains a Delft mark for further authenticity and provenance. A refined and versatile pair that brings classic Dutch charm to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
