Pair of Early 20th Century French Weathered Curved Cast Stone Garden Benches
$4,800
About
Substantial and beautifully weathered, this pair of early 20th century French garden benches offers sculptural form and authentic outdoor character. Crafted in France, circa 1920, each antique bench is constructed in three separate cast stone elements, with a gently curved rectangular seat resting on two substantial pedestal supports.
The supports are richly molded with bold scrolling volutes, fluted details, and classical foliate ornamentation, giving the benches a strong architectural presence. Each thick seat features softly rounded edges and a restrained incised border that follows the curved profile. Years of outdoor exposure have created a layered grey patina with natural mossy green coloration, surface variation, and weathering throughout.
Equally suited to a formal garden, courtyard, terrace, or poolside setting, the benches may be positioned together as a coordinated pair or placed separately within a landscape. Their three-part construction also allows them to be disassembled for easier transport and installation. In excellent condition commensurate with age and outdoor use, with intentional weathering that enhances their character.
