Pair of Mid-19th Century French Wrought Iron Andirons with Bowls
Forged in France, circa 1860, the antique andirons stand on three legs with hooks to hold decorative bar across. They feature a cupped, round shaped top; called a “Landiers” in French, and were once used in homes as a food warmer; for instance, a bowl of soup would be placed in the andiron cup near the hot fire to keep it warm. The Classic fireplace accessories are in excellent condition and adorn a rich patinated black finish. Measures: 18.5″ W x 24″ D x 35.5″ H.
