Pair of Mid-Century French Carved and Painted Trumeaux Mirrors from Normandy
Decorate a living room, or even a master bathroom with this important pair of colorful vintage trumeaux mirrors. Crafted in France, circa 1950 and over 6.5 feet tall, each large trumeau is dressed at the pediment with a thick crown. Each wall piece features hand carved musical instruments in high relief to mimic classical Roman architecture; it includes a large central violin, with acorn and foliage, and the Classic Louis XVI ribbon bow at the top. Both elegant trumeaux are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a distressed and patinated painted finish in a white and grey palette. Versatile, they could be placed in a hallway with a pair of consoles tables underneath, or in an entry on either side of a front door. Measures: 46.5″ W x 78.5″ H.
