Pair of Mid-Century Italian Tole and Porcelain Floral Three-Light Wall Sconces
$1,800
About
Bring whimsical charm and colorful artistry to a wall with this delightful pair of vintage floral sconces. Crafted in Italy circa 1950, each three-light fixture is hand fashioned from painted tole and decorated with an abundance of flowering vines, leafy stems, and hand-painted porcelain blossoms. The scrolling arms are designed as intertwined branches adorned with colorful blooms in white, blue, yellow, and pink tones, creating a lively garden-inspired composition.
Each sconce features three candle-form lights with gilt and green-painted bobeches, all mounted to an acanthus leaf backplate finished in warm gilt tones. Red berry accents and winding tendrils add depth and movement, while the combination of painted metal and delicate porcelain flowers reflects the romantic decorative style associated with Italian craftsmanship of the period.
The sconces are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and retain a rich patinated painted finish. Newly wired to U.S. standards, these elegant wall lights would bring character and warmth to a powder room, bedroom, hallway, or breakfast room.
