Pair of Early 20th C. French Louis XV Mahogany & Marquetry Oval Bedside Cabinets
$2,300
About
Crafted in France circa 1930, this refined pair of Louis XV style oval cabinets showcases richly figured flame mahogany accented with delicate marquetry. Each cabinet features a bookmatched veneer oval top framed with a molded edge above a single drawer, set over a paneled door decorated with a central flame mahogany reserve surrounded by intricate marquetry detail. The doors open to reveal a fixed-height interior shelf, providing practical storage. The cabinets are embellished with finely cast mounts in floral and foliate motifs, extending down the stiles and terminating in cabriole legs ending in escargot feet. The gilt-painted mounts retain a warm patinated finish, complementing the deep, lustrous mahogany grain. Measuring 32 inches high, 20.25 inches wide, and 16 inches deep, the pair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use. Versatile in function, they may serve as nightstands, end tables, or accent pieces, bringing timeless French refinement to both traditional and modern interiors.
