19th Century French Porquier-Beau Quimper Fan-Form Vase with Breton Figures
$675
About
This charming antique Quimper fan-form vase was crafted in Brittany, France, in the late 19th century and is signed PBx on the foot for Porquier-Beau. Shaped like an open hand fan with scalloped edges and raised ribs, the piece features two distinct hand-painted scenes: one side decorated with bright floral sprays in yellow, red, and green, and the reverse portraying lively Breton dancers and a musician set against a pastoral village landscape. Deep cobalt borders enriched with scrolling foliate motifs frame the composition beautifully. The vase stands on two molded, polychrome feet decorated in a mottled green and yellow palette. Its vibrant colors, whimsical form, and unmistakable Breton charm make it a delightful accent for a shelf, console, or kitchen display. The piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and retains the warmth and character of a true antique. Dimensions: H 6″ × W 10.25″ × D 2.5″.
