Pair of Mid-Century French Weathered Cast Lead Garden Urn Planters

$3,400

About

This substantial pair of antique-style French garden urns was crafted circa 1950 and cast in heavy lead. Each classical planter features a wide flared rim decorated with relief grape clusters and vine motifs, above a richly sculpted body adorned with figural medallions and scrolling foliage. The sides are fitted with robust ring handles framed by wreath detailing, adding depth and architectural character. The urns rest on a molded socle base with fluted collar and square plinth, giving them strong vertical presence and balance. The naturally aged lead surface has developed a beautiful weathered gray patina with soft tonal variation, enhancing the relief work and emphasizing their authentic garden character. Extremely heavy and durable at approximately 143 pounds each, these antique garden planters are ideal for flanking an entry, terrace, courtyard, or formal landscape setting. Their scale and weight provide both visual and physical permanence. The pair is in excellent antique condition commensurate with age and outdoor use, with natural surface wear consistent with material and period. Dimensions: 19″ Diameter x 24″H
