Early 20th Century Italian Patinated Brass and Onyx Standing Hall Tree
$2,400
About
Crafted in Italy circa 1930, this elegant antique standing hall tree brings both sculptural presence and practical function to an entryway or dressing room. The tall standard is fashioned from beautifully turned onyx, displaying natural veining in warm tones of cream, honey, and caramel that highlight the richness and depth of the stone. The upper section is fitted with four gracefully scrolled brass hooks for hanging coats, hats, and accessories. Each hook is decorated with finely cast medallions and scrolling ornament, showcasing the refined metalwork associated with early 20th century Italian craftsmanship. A decorative finial at the center crowns the composition and adds vertical emphasis to the design. The onyx shaft is mounted within an ornate metal framework rising from a vasiform pedestal set on four boldly shaped quadripartite brass legs embellished with classical foliate motifs and scrolling details. The brass retains a rich, warm patina that pairs beautifully with the tones of the onyx. In excellent antique condition commensurate with age and use, the hall tree displays light yellowing of the original sealant on the onyx, a natural characteristic consistent with its age. Dimensions: 21.75″W x 21.75″D x 69″H
