19th Century English Rococo Carved Walnut Wall Mirror with Beveled Glass
$1,900
About
Crafted in England circa 1870, this elegant antique Rococo Revival wall mirror is carved from richly toned walnut and shaped in a graceful shield form. The frame is crowned by a distinctive split swan-neck pediment with opposing scrolls centered by a small foliate cartouche. Pierced lattice panels decorate both the upper and lower sections, adding architectural detail and visual depth to the design. The flowing silhouette is enhanced by finely carved scrolling acanthus ornament along the shoulders and base, while the molded edges highlight the warm walnut grain and beautifully aged patina. The shaped mirror plate features a beveled edge and retains its original glass plate. Elegant in proportion and sculptural in presence, this 19th century mirror would make a striking statement in an entryway, powder room, or displayed above a console, or commode. Excellent antique condition commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 35.5″W x 50.75″H Weight: 33 lbs
