19th Century French Louis Philippe Arched Ebonized and Gilt Wall Mirror
$3,200
About
Crafted in France circa 1870, this antique Louis Philippe wall mirror features the classic arched silhouette associated with the period, defined by softly rounded upper corners and a broad molded frame. The frame is finished in a deep ebonized tone and decorated with hand-applied gilt foliate scrollwork along the outer border, creating a striking contrast against the dark ground. An interior band of repeating molded gadroons frames the glass and adds subtle depth to the design. The mirror retains its original mercury glass plate with light foxing consistent with age, enhancing its authentic antique character. The back reveals traditional plank construction and is fitted with hooks for secure hanging. Standing almost five feet tall, this antique French mirror brings strong vertical presence and classic Louis Philippe style to an entryway, powder room, bedroom, or above a console or mantel. Excellent antique condition commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 40″W x 2″D x 57.5″H
