Decorate a wall or entry with this richly carved antique Black Forest wall mirror. Crafted in France circa 1880, the oval mirror is set within an elaborate hand-carved oak frame adorned with deeply sculpted grape clusters, vine leaves, and scrolling foliage, reflecting a strong regional and rustic character.
The frame is further embellished with finely carved hunting motifs, including a central fox head crest flanked by two hound heads in profile, all executed in high relief and framed within circular medallions. The composition is balanced and highly decorative, combining naturalistic detail with bold craftsmanship, while the warm and rich walnut patina enhances the depth and texture of the carvings.
The mirror with new glass plate, is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a beautifully aged surface throughout. This antique wall accent would make a striking addition to a hunting lodge, study, entryway, or above a console.
