Pair of 19th Century French Louis Philippe Walnut Marble-Top Bedside Cabinets
$2,200
About
Elegant and highly functional, this pair of antique bedside cabinets provides generous storage within a tall and narrow silhouette. Crafted in France circa 1880, each walnut cabinet is topped with a removable inset slab of gray veined marble displaying attractive natural variations.
A single upper drawer fitted with a rectangular brass pull rests above a paneled cabinet door opening to reveal a fixed interior shelf. The doors form a complementary left-and-right pair, making the cabinets particularly well suited for placement on either side of a bed.
Restrained molding, rounded front corners, and turned bun feet reflect the understated elegance associated with Louis Philippe furniture. The warm walnut grain and mellow aged patina contrast beautifully with the cool gray marble and brass hardware. Petite in width yet unusually tall and practical, each cabinet could also serve as a nightstand, or narrow storage piece.
The matching cabinets are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use.
