Early 20th Century French Rococo Tole Chandelier with Pink Porcelain Roses
$2,200
About
Add a romantic French touch to a bedroom, dining room, or powder room with this elegant vintage floral chandelier. Crafted in France circa 1920, the decorative light fixture features a beautifully sculptural wrought iron and tole frame adorned with delicate porcelain roses in soft shades of pale pink and white.
The chandelier features five gracefully curved arms, each supporting a candle-style light fitted with a decorative ivory sleeve. The scrolling metal structure is embellished throughout with numerous three-dimensional porcelain roses, each delicately modeled with layered petals and subtle pink accents. Hand-painted green metal leaves and twisting stems intertwine around the arms, creating the appearance of a cascading bouquet of blooming roses.
The upper section rises in an airy arrangement of floral branches, culminating in a decorative foliate crown attached to the hanging chain. The combination of glossy porcelain blossoms and aged metalwork creates a charming contrast of textures, while the original distressed green and gilt finish lends the fixture a wonderful antique character.
The French floral chandelier is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a rich patinated finish that complements the delicate porcelain flowers. Its whimsical design and soft pastel palette make it an ideal addition to a romantic bedroom, feminine dressing room, or elegant breakfast nook.
