18th Century French Louis XIII Carved Bleached Oak Refectory Trestle Table
$10,200
About
This elegant antique dining table was crafted in Normandy, France circa 1780. Built from solid oak, the long rectangular monastery table rests on bold baluster-form trestle legs with pierced centers, joined by a sturdy cross stretcher and secured with traditional mortise and tenon joinery. Each foot terminates in a molded shoe base, ensuring both strength and visual weight. The thick 2.5-inch top showcases a beautiful bleached finish that enhances the natural grain of the oak, giving the table a warm yet contemporary feel. The surface is decorated with butterfly joinery and forged iron diamond-shaped accents, both functional and decorative, underscoring its authentic Provincial character. Large in scale yet restrained in design, this Louis XIII style farm table easily accommodates 8 to 10 guests, making it ideal for a family dining room, a rustic kitchen, or even as a striking conference table. The piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, boasting a well-preserved patina and desirable surface distress that adds charm and authenticity. Measures: 94″ W x 33″ D x 30″ H.
