Exceptionally useful and beautiful, this elegant antique fruitwood “secretaire a abattant” or “Dos d’Ane” (secretary bookcase) is an essential piece of furniture for a study or library. The secretary was carved in the Bordeaux region of France, circa 1760 and is built in two sections. This exceptional desk features a bonnet top, two glass doors with all the original glass panels and four inside shelves, original keys and locks. Under the folding writing surface, you’ll find multiple drawers (five total), and three large carved drawers at the bottom.
